Medical Advocacy
SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Exam):
- During the exam our Advocates can provide support and comfort. We are here to listen, support, believe the victim and honor the choices the victim makes. Whether you decide to report or not, our Advocates can provide education about sexual assault and assist with other service referrals. After the exam, we can also help the victim navigate the criminal justice system.
DV Medical Accompaniment:
- A CRA Advocate may be available to accompany you when you obtain medical care for a domestic abuse injury. Advocates strongly encourage you to seek medical care if you have been choked (strangled), because of how lethal these injuries are, even in cases where there is no visible bruising. If you have already obtained medical care and want to discuss safety options or a danger assessment, please call us.
